Expedition Fund

Personal Development
Throughout all our expeditions we aim to link expedition leadership skills to those necessary in business and in future careers. We aim to inspire and develop the leaders and scientists of the future who in turn are able to inspire others.

The Young Explorers are encouraged to use their aptitude and initiative to break down and solve complex problems, each supporting one another and teaching and learning from their pool of skills. Young Explorers return to the UK having learnt a great deal about themselves and group dynamics, as well as the specific skills of living and working in the outdoors.

Expeditions
BSES's expeditions take place in some of the most remote wilderness areas of the world as we believe that the bonds created here, necessary for survival in extreme locations, promote stark and lasting benefits. Each expedition has a full scientific fieldwork programme covering a range of disciplines specific to the location including climate change, biodiversity and the effects of human interaction on the environment.

If you would like to sponsor any of our expeditions or support us in any way with a gift of equipment or money then we would be delighted to have your support.
